My passion is supporting people to have a happy, healthy relationship with food, and to help them feel confident to make food choices which are going to help them feel their best, no matter what their individual health needs are.

I love food and cooking, but understand as a Mum of three rapidly growing children, how tricky it can be to provide healthy nutritious meals and snacks everyday, that everybody will eat. I love supporting families to bring the joy back into cooking and meal- times.

I have spent the last 12+ years working in Primary Care Dietetics, seeing clients of all ages and stages, but mainly for weight management, Type 2 Diabetes, Irritable Bowel, food intolerances, Coeliac Disease, and fussy/restrictive eating in children. Prior to that I’ve had experience working in the hospital setting in both NZ and the UK.

    • Weight management
    • Digestive health/FODMAPS
    • Paediatrics
    • Maternal health and nutrition
    • Heart health

I remember when I received the news that I had Coeliac Disease at the age of eleven, and the variety of emotions that surrounded the diagnosis. Since then, it has been my dream to help other people navigate the often overwhelming array of nutritional messages, to find a way of eating that meets their own personal needs and helps them to be the healthiest they can be.

I have worked with a wide range of different conditions in general outpatient clinics. Throughout my journey I have come to love helping people with food intolerances and gastrointestinal problems, as well as helping people make sense of their medical conditions from a nutritional perspective.

I believe that good nutrition is not just about physical health - it is important to consider the emotional, social and spiritual components as well!

My special interests include:

  • Coeliac Disease
  • Irritable bowel syndrome/FODMAPs
  • Food chemical intolerances
  • Management of unintentional weight loss
  • Weight management
  • General healthy eating e.g. energy, iron deficiency
  • PCOS

Michelle works remotely and at our Taranaki St, Wellington clinic.
